Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè

Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè (/ˈvoʃè/ /ˈikɘ/ [dense] [dynamics]) is a temperate Town located in Valviolet Dutchy, Mèhabicê Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè was founded by Gèsêv Trêthêbre, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè has a yearly average temperature of 22°C (71°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a pleasant 24°C (75°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 20°C (68°F). Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè receives an average of 132 cm/y (51 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè covers an area of nearly 4 km² (1 mi²), and an average elevation of 4342 m (14245 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè was founded durring the late 11th century, by Gèsêv Trêthêbre. The establishment of Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè is buildings are arranged arround a network of spacious flagstone streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is protected by a well-crafted cobblestone fence tall enough to provide adiquite cover for defenders to fire from, but no more than that. The town's frontieer-style defences are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the towns defences.

Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè’s streets. A look around Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scutteling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s everything together. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè long.

Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by their massive, monolithic and 'blocky' appearance with a rigid geometric style. It was best known for its rough, unfinished surfaces, unusual shapes, heavy-looking materials, straight lines, and small windows. Modular elements were often used to form masses representing specific functional zones, grouped into a unified whole.

In Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè during thunderstorms, with each flash of lightning, everyone sees different monsters from the corner of their eyes.

The Hungry Flesh near Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Vothè-ikê Dêtîkè's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves destroying a prepared ritual vessel to channel Charm energies of tier 1 via speaking in tongues.

Consequently, its residents speak many languages at a functional level.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century a local hero by the name of spared the town from an attack. A small order of knights was founded in 's honor, and bears his name to this day.
